Pinewood derby

Last Friday night, the Elders Quorum held an adult Pinewood Derby. Ethan was in charge of the activity, seeing as it was his idea to do it this year, because the activities committee didn't want to take it on. For the last two year, Ethan's car won first place, and he had high expectation with a completely different model car. He won fourth and was a little disappointed, but Uncle Doug left everyone in the dust. The Fike's neighbor, Dave, has come to this and compete with Ethan for a while. They have a deal going that between the two of them, the loser buys ice cream. We try to go to King's Cone Castle, but they were closed already. So he came to our place and learn how to play nintendo Wii instead. We all had a good time.

Dave admiring the track we finally got back from Slippery Rock, after three years.

Uncle Doug and Br. Hartman, the first and second place winners.

Ethan and Auby hanging out with Mark. This was Auby's first time, she modeled her car after a Porsche 911 Carrera Turbo, Alice's car from "Eclipse", the third in the Twilight series.

Dave and Ethan deciding who is paying for the ice cream.

And here is a random, my little boy is sooo cute picture.

Jack Jack Attack

Mark is five months as of today. I can't believe it, I told Ethan and he didn't believe me until he did the math. He has been a great baby. Pretty much everyone that has a chance to play with him tell me that he is an extremely happy child. I agree with them. He loves to smile and play with his feet. Sara, my sister-in-law has a newborn that is three months younger and has had colic. We have been blessed with any easy child.

Last Sunday, Ethan was playing with Mark's hair, giving him a little mohawk. The mohawk, his constant smiling, and drooling, he looks like a human version of Jack Jack from the movie "The Incredibles". I just have to hope that if he does have super hero powers of turning his body into flaming balls of lead, he'll only do it when someone is trying to kidnap him.

Sear's Pics

I love getting professional pictures taken. Havinga baby makes the studios want to give you coupons so I have been trying out different places nearby to see what I like, here are the results from Sears.

concern personalities

I found this test on another blog and took it. I don't agree with the inventor part so much, but was really surprise by the accuracy of the concerned part. One part really struck a chord with me.

Because you can read people well, and because you can understand their feelings, you are often bothered by others' insensitive behavior.

I am constantly astonished by what I would consider common sense, many would never have thought it would have an impact on others. It drives me up the wall the way some think, or don't think I should say.

You are a Concerned Inventor.

about you

how you relate to others
You are Concerned

Your understanding of others' emotions, your sense of right and wrong, and your skeptical nature make you CONCERNED.

Your observations of your environment, in concert with your clearly defined worldview, leads you to be aware of the feelings of others.

Because you can read people well, and because you can understand their feelings, you are often bothered by others' insensitive behavior.

While you appreciate others' emotional nature, you don't think their emotional concerns should take precedence over their obligations to society.

You prefer to be in smaller groups, as big groups can occasionally get out of hand.

Order and structure are somewhat important to you—you believe that people's feelings are better protected when others are respectful and follow certain societal guidelines.

You tend to share your feelings with a few individuals who are close with you, but otherwise you are a somewhat private person.

If you want to be different:

Let your caring nature allow you to put more trust in people in general—you can have more faith in them without losing your valuable skepticism.

You are an Inventor

Your imagination, self-reliance, openness to new things, and appreciation for utility combine to make you an INVENTOR.

You have the confidence to make your visions into reality, and you are willing to consider many alternatives to get that done.

The full spectrum of possibilities in the world intrigues you—you're not limited by pre-conceived notions of how things should be.

Problem-solving is a specialty of yours, owing to your persistence, curiosity, and understanding of how things work.

Your vision allows you to identify what's missing from a given situation, and your creativity allows you to fill in the gaps.

Your awareness of how things function gives you the ability to come up with new uses for common objects.

It is more interesting for you to pursue excitement than it is to get caught up in a routine.

Although understanding details is not difficult for you, you specialize in seeing the bigger picture and don't get caught up in specifics.

You tend to more proactive than reactive—you don't just wait for things to come to you.

You're not afraid to let your emotions guide you, and you're generally considerate of others' feelings as well.

If you want to be different:

Try applying your creativity to more artistic arenas, and letting your imagination take less practical forms.
